Automotive component manufacturers — gear-makers, transmission ancillaries, engine-component suppliers, bearing units — work to two pressures that the steel supplier has to solve: fatigue-life integrity on every bar, and predictable supply across OEM build schedules. Both come back to the same answer: clean material, on time, with paperwork that holds up.
Our case-hardening stock (EN353, 20MnCr5, SAE 8620, EN36C) covers the gear and shaft side of the line. Our through-hardening alloy stock (EN19, EN24, AISI 4140) covers the highly-stressed shafts, connecting rods and high-strength fasteners. EN31 covers the bearing side. And every bar — every order, no exceptions — ships with an EN 10204 Type 3.1-equivalent MTC and an ASTM A388 UT pass report, both keyed to the heat number for full traceability.
This matters because in automotive QA, the certificate is not optional. Incoming inspection wants the document before the bar lands. We work that way by default.

Most automotive failures in service start at sub-surface inclusions or cavities in the steel — defects that ordinary inspection cannot see. ASTM A388 ultrasonic examination screens each bar for these defects before dispatch. For fatigue-critical parts like bearings, gears and crankshafts, it is the single most important quality step.
Yes. Our standard certificate is EN 10204 Type 3.1 equivalent. For OEM contracts that require third-party witness — typically for export or high-criticality applications — we can arrange EN 10204 Type 3.2 equivalent documentation. Specify on the inquiry.
For stocked grades and sizes, same-day quote and dispatch within 3 to 7 days is typical. For scheduled call-offs against an annual contract, we dispatch on the agreed cycle. For non-stock items or large forged sections, we give a realistic lead time at the quotation stage.
