Sectors we know inside-out

Six industries — one stockist who speaks their language.

Selling steel to a forging plant is not the same conversation as selling to a fabricator. We have run both, for years. Here is what each sector needs from us, and the grades that get specified the most.

Ancillaries · OEMs · Tier-1 & Tier-2

Automobile Industry

The automotive sector lives or dies on fatigue performance. Carburised gears, crankshafts and transmission shafts see millions of load cycles in service, and a single non-metallic inclusion can be enough to start a crack that ends in a warranty claim. Our UT-tested case-hardening and high-tensile alloy stock is built around exactly this — sound material, certificate paperwork that holds up at incoming inspection, and consistent supply for OEM schedules.

Components we supply steel for
  • Transmission and gearbox gears
  • Crankshafts and camshafts
  • Axle and drive shafts
  • Connecting rods and gudgeon pins
  • Bearings, bushes and steering pins
Most-specified grades
Machine shops · Design houses · Job-work

Engineering Industry

General and heavy engineering is the largest single use of our stock — design engineers, job-work machine shops and small to mid-sized OEMs sourcing the everyday range of carbon, alloy and case-hardening steels for machined and load-bearing parts. The value here is not exotic grades; it is one supplier who carries the whole working range, in the size you need, cut to the length you want, with the paperwork that closes the loop.

Components we supply steel for
  • Shafts, spindles and axles
  • Gears, pinions and couplings
  • Studs, bolts and high-strength fasteners
  • Bushes, rollers and wear parts
  • General machined components

Manufacturing Industry

Volume manufacturing is unforgiving — a missing consignment in the morning is a stopped line by afternoon. Our manufacturing customers value three things above all: consistency, traceability and speed. With 400+ tonnes in ready stock, automatic precision cutting up to 600 mm, MTC and UT certificates as standard, and our own delivery fleet, we are set up to keep your line running — not to be the bottleneck.

Components we supply steel for
  • Machined production components in volume
  • Gears, shafts, pins and pulleys
  • Tooling, fixtures and jigs
  • Pre-cut blanks ready for production
  • Spare-parts and replacement stock
Most-specified grades
Machine builders · Tool rooms · Die-makers

Machinery Industry

Industrial machinery, plant equipment and tool rooms operate at the technical end of our customer base. Steel choice matters disproportionately here — a die that lasts three hundred thousand strokes versus three thousand is the difference between a profitable run and a write-off. We carry the cold-work and hot-work tool steels, the bearing grades and the high-tensile alloys that machine builders specify, and we cut to size so the toolmaker can start on the work that pays.

Components we supply steel for
  • Plant and equipment shafts
  • Die blocks for forging and pressing
  • Tool-room tooling and inserts
  • Machine bearings, rollers and bushes
  • Punches, blades and forming tooling

Plant equipment · Infrastructure · Heavy frames

Construction Industry

Construction-related orders sit on the structural and equipment side rather than rebar — we supply the shafts, pins, brackets and forged sections that go into construction plant, lifting equipment, crusher units and heavy-frame fabrications. Where structural carbon steels meet engineering alloys, we are the supplier who can carry both and deliver certified material to site or workshop.

Components we supply steel for
  • Construction plant shafts and pins
  • Lifting and hoisting equipment
  • Crusher and conveyor components
  • Heavy-frame fabrication bars
  • Base plates, brackets, support pins
Most-specified grades
Fab shops · Welders · Cut-to-size buyers

Fabrication Industry

Fabrication shops are the customers who most directly benefit from our cutting capability. Bringing pre-cut, sized, certified bar onto the shop floor — rather than full lengths that need cropping — saves hours of saw time, reduces offcut wastage and tightens your bill of materials. Add MTC documentation to that, and your QA system has what it needs for downstream acceptance and weld procedure approvals.

Components we supply steel for
  • Cut-to-size bar blanks for fabrication
  • Welded assemblies and structural frames
  • Brackets, lugs and gusset plates
  • Custom-cut flats for assembly work
  • Mild steel bar and section as required

National & international reach

Pan-India by road. Export inquiries welcomed.

From our GIDC Kathwada yard we dispatch across Gujarat in our own vehicles, and supply industrial customers throughout India by road transport — typical destinations include Maharashtra, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Delhi NCR, Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Telangana.

We also welcome export inquiries from international buyers sourcing alloy, carbon and tool steel against AISI, DIN, JIS and ISO designations. For export orders we can arrange the additional documentation typical for cross-border supply — pre-shipment inspection, EN 10204 Type 3.2 third-party witnessed certificates where required, and packing for sea or air freight.

If you are sourcing from outside India, share your country, grade, quantity and incoterm preference in your inquiry and we will come back with scope, lead time and indicative pricing.

How we work with industrial buyers

Built for procurement, not just walk-ins.

Industrial customers need supply that fits their planning cycle — not just material on a shelf. Here is how we make that work.

01

Annual contracts & call-offs

For regular OEM and ancillary customers, we agree annual forecasts, scheduled deliveries and call-off arrangements — and hold dedicated stock against them.

02

Bulk & project quantities

For large orders — full-truck volumes, project allocations or kits for OEM build runs — we coordinate sourcing, cutting and dispatch as a single package.

03

Documentation as standard

MTC and UT pass certificates with every consignment. For exports and high-criticality applications, EN 10204 Type 3.2 third-party-witnessed certification is available on request.

04

Technical support

Not sure which grade fits your component? Share the part, the loading and the operating environment — we'll come back with options and trade-offs, not just a quote.

05

Logistics under one roof

Own delivery vehicles for Gujarat, contracted road transport across India, packing for sea or air freight on exports. We handle the dispatch — you handle the production.

06

One partner you can name

You get a named partner — Mayank, Kalpesh or Gautam — who knows your account, your sizes and your paperwork preferences. No call centre, no "let me get back to you on that."

Industry buyer FAQ

Questions procurement teams ask us.

Which industries does Saroj Enterprise supply?

Six core sectors: automobile, engineering, manufacturing, machinery, construction and fabrication. Our customers include automotive ancillaries and Tier-1/Tier-2 OEMs, machine shops and tool rooms, forging plants, gear-makers, plant equipment builders, fabricators and general engineering job-work units across Gujarat and India.

Do you export steel?

We supply industrial customers across India by road transport, and welcome export inquiries from international buyers. For exports we can arrange the additional documentation typical for cross-border supply — pre-shipment inspection, EN 10204 Type 3.2 equivalent third-party witnessed certificates where required, and specification compliance to international standards (AISI, DIN, JIS, ISO). Share your country, grade, quantity and incoterm preference in your inquiry.

Can you supply on regular schedules to OEM customers?

Yes. We work on annual contracts, scheduled deliveries and call-off arrangements with manufacturers who need predictable material supply. For regular customers we hold dedicated stock against forecasts and dispatch on agreed cycles. Just tell us your annual volume estimate and we can scope the working arrangement.

Which grades do you supply to the automotive industry?

Most automotive components are made from case-hardening grades for carburised gears and shafts (EN353, 20MnCr5, SAE 8620, EN36C), high-tensile alloy steels for shafts and connecting rods (EN19, EN24), and bearing steel (EN31). Tool steels (D2, H13, OHNS) are supplied to automotive tool rooms and die-makers. See the steel grades reference for full details on each.

Can you provide third-party witnessed test certificates?

Yes — on request. Our standard certificate is equivalent to EN 10204 Type 3.1 (MTC + UT issued and signed by our independent quality function). For applications that require a third-party inspector — exports, defence, offshore, high-criticality pressure equipment — we can arrange EN 10204 Type 3.2 equivalent documentation. Specify on the inquiry; we'll confirm scope, cost and lead time before order confirmation.

What is your lead time on bulk orders?

For grades and sizes in our 400+ tonne ready stock, we can typically quote the same day and dispatch within the week. Larger bulk orders or non-stock grades get a realistic lead time at the quotation stage — and we stick to it. Tell us your required delivery date with the inquiry and we'll work to it.

Do you offer technical support for grade selection?

Yes. If you are designing a new component or not sure whether EN19 or EN24 (or 20MnCr5 or SAE 8620) is the better fit for your part, share the application — loading, environment, post-processing — and we'll come back with options and a recommendation. Four decades of trade gives us a reasonable view on what works.
