Engineering buyers do not need a specialised stockist. They need a complete one. The drawing might call for EN8 today and EN24 tomorrow; the part might be a shaft this week and a gear blank next. What slows engineering procurement down is not technical complexity — it is having to run three separate POs across three suppliers to cover one parts list.

Our position in this market is straightforward: we hold the full carbon and alloy engineering range in ready stock, across round, square, hex and flat bar, cut to size on five automatic CNC saws up to 600 mm. From EN8 and C45 at the carbon end to EN24 and 4340 at the high-tensile end, with the case-hardening (EN353, 20MnCr5, SAE 8620) grades in between — it sits on the same yard, ships on the same truck.

The value here is not exotic chemistry. It is the working day saved when a design engineer sends one inquiry, gets one quote, and receives one consignment with the documentation already in the file.

From simple turned shafts to splined and stepped drive shafts. Sizing, hardening and post-treatment varies; the bar has to be sound to start.

Lightly to medium-loaded gears in everyday machinery — typically through-hardened or surface-hardened rather than carburised.

Studs, bolts & fasteners

High-strength fasteners specified in engineering BOMs — anything from grade-8.8 work upwards.

Bushes & rollers

Wear parts, plain bushes, low-speed rollers, sleeve components. Either hardened-and-tempered or surface-hardened bar.

Pins, dowels & collars

Small machined parts in volume — taper pins, dowel pins, shaft collars, retaining components.

General machined components

The everyday catch-all of engineering — covers, bodies, levers, brackets. Carbon and mild steel cut to size.

What grades do you stock for the engineering industry?

The full working range. Carbon steels (EN8, EN9, C45) for shafts, fasteners and general machined parts. Through-hardening alloy steels (EN19, EN24, AISI 4140, AISI 4340) for high-tensile components. Do you accept mixed-grade orders?

Yes — and most of our engineering customers work this way. You can combine EN8 round, EN19 hex and a piece of EN24 forged bar on a single PO. We pack and dispatch as one consignment with combined MTC + UT documentation. Saves you handling, freight and admin overhead.

What's the minimum order quantity?

No minimum. We supply single bars for prototypes, cut pieces for one-off jobs and full-truck volumes for production runs. Whether you need one 100 mm length or one tonne, the response time and paperwork are the same.

Can you cut to my exact engineering drawing dimensions?

Yes — this is a core service. Round, square and hex bars cut on five automatic CNC band saws up to 600 mm cutting capacity, with typical tolerance of ±0.5 mm on length. Mention the cut sizes with your inquiry; we'll quote cut-and-supply together.

How quickly can you turn around an engineering quote?

On stocked grades and standard sizes — same day. For non-stock grades or large forged sections, we come back within a working day with a quote and a realistic lead time.
