Steel choice matters disproportionately here — a die that lasts three hundred thousand strokes versus three thousand is the difference between a profitable run and a write-off. We carry the cold-work, hot-work and shock-resisting tool steels, the bearing grades and the high-tensile alloys that machine builders specify.
Machinery customers — machine builders, tool rooms, die-makers, plant equipment manufacturers — are the most technical buyers we deal with. The conversation isn't usually about price per kilo; it's about which grade will give the die three times the run-life, or whether H11 or H13 is the better fit for an aluminium die-casting application, or what hardness P20 actually supplies at when you machine the mould.
We hold the working range of tool and die steel that makes those conversations possible. Cold-work grades (D2, D3, OHNS, S7) for blanking, forming, cutting and impact tooling. Hot-work grades (H11, H13) for die-casting, hot extrusion and forging. P20 pre-hardened for plastic moulds. DB6 for forging die blocks. Plus EN31 bearing steel for machine bearings and rollers, and the through-hardening alloy range for plant shafts.

High-carbon high-chromium cold-work die steel — the wear-resistance benchmark for blanking and forming dies. Air-hardening, low distortion.
Higher-carbon oil-hardening cold-work steel. The economical workhorse for blanking dies in Indian tool rooms.
Chromium hot-work tool steel — tougher than H13, used for die-casting and forging dies that take heavy impact at temperature.
The industry-standard hot-work tool steel — global default for aluminium die-casting dies and hot-extrusion tooling.

On large die blocks and bearing-steel bars, ultrasonic examination catches the internal defects that would become tool failures in service.
P20 plates, H13 forged blocks, DB6 die stock — held in the sizes Indian tool rooms actually consume, not just round bar.
MTC + UT pass certificates with every consignment. For high-criticality tooling or export tool-room work, 3.2 third-party witness available on request.
Both are chromium hot-work tool steels. H13 has slightly higher vanadium content, which gives it marginally higher hot hardness and better wear resistance — making it the default for aluminium die-casting dies and hot-extrusion tooling. H11 is slightly tougher, which makes it the better choice for dies that take heavier shock or impact loading. For most general hot-work applications, H13 is the safer specification.
D2 is air-hardening, distorts less in heat treatment, and contains molybdenum and vanadium for better toughness. D3 is oil-hardening, higher carbon, more wear-resistant on paper but less tough — and lower cost. For high-volume blanking runs where dimensional stability matters, D2 is usually worth the premium. For lower-volume work or wear-dominated applications, D3 remains the Indian tool-room workhorse.
